May Flour Brings Tasty Treats
May is here and I know here in New England it’s finally been feeling like it. My daffodils and tulips have been blooming and the sun has been out. It definitely makes me want to spend more time outdoors, but don’t worry - I’ll always be in the kitchen too.
This month I went with quite a few classics. As much as I enjoy creating unique flavor combinations or leveling up an old favorite - sometimes you just want the classic version. Call it nostalgia or maybe it’s evoking feelings of a time of comfort with family or friends. We all have those recipes or foods we don’t want changed, so I also find a ton of value in sharing recipes that may be that for you.
Here’s what’s coming this month:

Powdered Donuts - The classic. Whether you grew up eating them on road trips or Sunday mornings, now you can make your own. These aren’t going to taste exactly like the kind you remember in the sleeve or white box, but maybe a little bit lighter and more elevated flavor.
Crusty Dinner Rolls - As much as I love a soft dinner roll, sometimes you need a little crust or crunch. The dichotomy between the crisp of the crust and the soft fluffy interior is something I personally LOVE.
Lemon Sugar Rolls- A soft, lemon yeasted roll with a lemon vanilla sugar sandwiched in between the layers of dough. Topped with sugar and/or an optional lemon drizzle glaze.
Classic Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies - I already have several versions of chocolate chip cookies on my website: Brown Butter Chocolate Chip (my favorite), Mini Chocolate Chip Cookies, Skillet Chocolate Chip Cookie so why one more? Well, different people like different things. I wanted to create a recipe a little more simple than my Brown Butter CCC but equally tasty.
Is there a recipe you’d love to see on the blog or something you can’t work out on an existing recipe? Let me know! Until next month, happy baking!
