Let's Get Baking
It's cookie season!
While baking during the holidays is super common, many of us will be making cookies over all other sorts of treats. Cookie swap parties, cookies for Santa, or just as a gift. I’m no different and love making so many cookies in December. I’m going to be sharing some of my favorite recipes on my site that are great for enjoying, sharing, and gifting this season!

Mint Chocolate Chip - This is MY favorite Christmas cookie. I grew up with my mom making them and now it’s just a requirement in my own house.
Christmas Sugar Cookies - This is the cookie most people think of when thinking of a Christmas cookie.
Chewy Brown Butter Gingerbread - This is not your standard gingerbread. No gingerbread houses or men made with this, just a soft and chewy cookie packed with ginger and nutty flavors.
Ted Lasso Shortbread - Inspired by the show, I wanted to create my own shortbread bars that were just as delicious and delightful as Ted’s. These shortbread bars are super simple but full of flavor.
Orange Cranberry Sugar - This cookie is so full of flavor. Dried cranberries and and orange flavored cookie rolled in orange sugar.
Rolo Snowballs - The traditional snowball cookie I believe is more like a shortbread cookie with nuts. Mine is a chocolate cookie with a rolo candy nestled inside.
Pistachio Lace Cookies - A super simple and gorgeous cookie. Lacy thin and perfect for nut lovers as it’s made from pistachios.

Maybe you’re not a cookie baker - nothing wrong with that! Lots of people make a special Christmas morning breakfast (or Christmas Eve, or Hannukah or any other get together during the holidays). Here are some great options for your special morning treats:

Cinnamon Rolls - I know everyone thinks theirs are the best, but I really do think mine are and I have taken them to gatherings where quite a few people might be willing to spread this gospel for me as well. Mine are ultra soft and fluffy with a brown butter cream cheese frosting.
Scones - If you aren’t going to get up early to make cinnamon rolls from scratch, I get it. Scones are an attractive option as they are fairly quick, pretty simple and I have tons of different flavors.
Star Bread - This is for someone who wants a beautiful baked centerpiece for the table. Now, you could very easily swap out the fillings for a cinnamon sugar which is common but I definitely recommend this cinnamon, cranberry goat cheese one.
Biscuits - Like scones but probably even easier. If your family just wants something basic and delicious, you can’t go wrong with homemade biscuits. Whether you’re slathering them with jam or serving them with a traditional egg breakfast.
Bagels - A classic for my family, but who says you need to buy them. Make them the day before and the only work required that morning is toasting and topping them!

Whatever you end up popping in the oven, I hope your holidays are spent with loved ones full of magic and merriment. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays!
